One of two people arrested just before Christmas last year after they were spotted inside a business where one of them had previously been trespassed for stealing appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court November 10).
Forty-year-old Heather Lewis pled guilty to theft of property, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and being in possession of an instrument of crime.
She was sentenced to four years-probation. She was with 34-year-old Adam Wetstein and he has been charged as well.
A Mountain Home police officer responded to the business in Hometown Commons after Lewis was spotted inside the store. She had previously been trespassed from the business.
The first responding officer reported that Lewis was seen leaving the store shortly after he arrived and began getting information from a store employee.
In addition to Lewis, store management also wanted Wetstein trespassed.
Wetstein was contacted outside the store and told he had been trespassed and was not to return to the business.
Wetstein was said to have confirmed to officers that he and Lewis had arrived at the store in the same vehicle.
While in contact with Wetstein, he verified he had an active waiver on file permitting warrantless searches of his person and property.
Officers went to Wetstein’s truck and searched the vehicle. The search uncovered methamphetamine in a black cloth bag in the center console.
In addition, a glass smoking pipe was found containing a burnt residue that was white in color.
Both Wetstein and Lewis denied ownership of the meth and smoking pipe.
Officers also reported seeing new clothing with tags still attached on the passenger seat of the truck. Lewis claimed the items had been there for several weeks and denied they were stolen.
Charges filed against the pair included possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia used to ingest the drug as well as for theft for Lewis.
Both Wetstein and Lewis have had criminal cases opened on them in the past.
