St. Louis Cardinals announce minor league coaching hires and promotions

The St. Louis Cardinals have made a series of hires and promotions within their minor league player development and performance staff.

New hires include Dalton Hurd as director of hitting; Casey Demko as minor league infield coordinator; Jason Eary, Wade Stauss, and Rodrigo Vigil as minor league assistant coaches; Julian Rip as minor league strength and conditioning coordinator; Nick Coberly as assistant medical coordinator; Morgan Ivey as rehabilitation coordinator; and Kily Gilbert and Jordan Hyink as minor league athletic trainers.

Hurd comes from the Baltimore Orioles system and previously coached in the San Francisco Giants organization, while Demko spent three seasons at Abilene Christian University. Eary joins from St. Louis University, Stauss transitions from playing in the Cardinals system, and Vigil brings 11 years of professional playing experience and four years of coaching in the Blue Jays and Mariners systems. Rip, Coberly, Ivey, Gilbert, and Hyink bring backgrounds in professional baseball, strength training, and sports medicine.

Promotions include Emily Wiebe to assistant director, player development and performance analytics; Brock Hammit to minor league hitting coordinator; Ryan Ludwick to minor league outfield coordinator; Esmeralda Hernandez to coordinator of international administration; and Paige Schultz to assistant, player development.

Wiebe, Hammit, and Ludwick expand their roles in player development and performance, while Hernandez oversees operations at the Dominican Republic academy, and Schultz supports administrative and technology operations in Jupiter, Fla.

The moves strengthen the Cardinals’ minor league coaching and performance programs, supporting player development across the organization.
