Resilient all season, Arkansas State rallied from a six-point deficit late in the fourth quarter to edge Appalachian State 30-29 on Saturday at Kidd Brewer Stadium, securing bowl eligibility for the third straight year.
Arkansas State (6-6, 4-3 Sun Belt) became one of 17 active Group of Six programs to reach bowl eligibility in at least three consecutive seasons and earned its 13th bowl-eligible campaign as an FBS member.
The Red Wolves also continued their rare success in Boone. With Saturday’s win, A-State joined Georgia Southern and Coastal Carolina as the only visiting teams with multiple victories at App State since 2003 and is the only one of the three with a winning record there at 21.
Arkansas State will learn their bowl game destination and opponent on December 7th.
