A late first-half run carried into the second half proved decisive as No. 21 Kansas pulled away from Missouri, 80-60, in the StorageMart Border Showdown on Sunday. The loss drops the Tigers to 8-2, while the Jayhawks improve to 7-3.
Mark Mitchell led Missouri with 21 points, adding seven rebounds and six free throws made. Graduate Jacob Crews contributed 11 points, including three 3-pointers, and junior Anthony Robinson II posted season highs with seven rebounds and six assists.

Missouri briefly led 11-9 after two Mitchell fastbreaks, but Kansas closed the first half with a 12-2 run, including a buzzer-beating 3-pointer, to take a 33-25 lead. The Jayhawks extended the advantage to 18 points with an 11-1 start to the second half, which Missouri could not overcome despite an 8-2 run sparked by a Luke Northweather three-pointer.
Missouri finished shooting 34.4 percent from the field, while leading in offensive rebounds 16-12 and fast-break points 15-11. Kansas shot 45.6 percent overall and 42.9 percent from 3-point range, making nine triples to Missouri’s seven.
