Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper charged with second-degree rape in West Plains; pleads not guilty

A Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) trooper has pleaded not guilty to second-degree rape after a woman reported he sexually assaulted her at her home in July, court records show.27-year-old Ethan Minge is accused of forcing sexual intercourse on the victim on July 27 at her residence despite her repeatedly refusing his advances, according to a police affidavit. The woman reported the incident to the West Plains Police Department on Oct. 23.

The affidavit states that Minge texted the victim the day after the alleged assault, acknowledging she had said “no” and apologizing.

Minge waived formal arraignment and entered a not guilty plea. He was released on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 17.

No attorney was listed for Minge in online court records as of Wednesday.
