This holiday season, one lucky Powerball ticket could turn Christmas wishes into a record setting reality. The jackpot has climbed to an estimated 1.7 billion dollars, making it the fourth largest in Powerball history. The cash option is a cool $781.3 million, which is more than enough to put a bow on just about anything.Monday nights drawing delivered the numbers 3, 18, 36, 41 and 54, with a Powerball of 7 and a Power Play of 2x. No one matched all six numbers, so the jackpot rolls on and the dreaming continues.Even without a top winner, Christmas cheer showed up in smaller ways. One million dollar winning tickets were sold in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New York with two winners there, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin. Not a bad stocking stuffer.
KTLO News spoke with local residents, Rod and Pat, who say a billion dollar Christmas requires a solid game plan.

Powerball drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. Tickets are two dollars each. Around here, that feels like a small price for a little holiday magic.
