
A Randolph County woman is facing felony charges after investigators said she took thousands of dollars from her aunt.Attorney General Tim Griffin said Wednesday that agents with his office’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit arrested and charged Amanda Patton, 46, of Maynard with exploitation of a vulnerable person, a Class B felony.
According to Griffin, Patton allegedly exploited her aunt while the victim was in a nursing home by using the victim’s personal funds for her own use. The purchases reportedly included multiple vehicles and an RV totaling more than $185,000.
Patton is currently free on a $30,000 bond and is awaiting her next court appearance.
Griffin thanked the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Devon Holder for their assistance in the case.
