The Mountain Home High School Quiz Bowl team competed Wednesday in the Ozarka College Invitational in Melbourne, posting a strong showing in three closely contested matches.
MHHS dropped its opening game to perennial contender Batesville on the final question. In the second round, Mountain Home defeated Norfork, a team known for its Quiz Bowl success. The Bombers’ final match came against Highland, where the team fell on the fifth question of overtime.
All three matches were tightly played, with Mountain Home averaging 300 points per contest. The invitational served as a tune-up ahead of the regional tournament scheduled for March 7 in Marion.
