Baxter County Sheriff’s Office seeking patrol deputy applicants

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a full-time deputy sheriff position in the patrol division.

The position includes all applicable county benefits and a starting base salary of $45,162 per year, which may increase based on prior law enforcement experience. Equipment and uniforms are provided.

Employee benefits include fully paid health, dental and vision insurance, 15 days of paid vacation after one year of employment, two paid personal days annually, 11 paid holidays, accrued sick leave, participation in the Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System (APERS), and the option to participate in the county’s 457 deferred compensation plan.

Applicants must already be certified as a full-time law enforcement officer through the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST), or hold an equivalent certification recognized by CLEST.

Minimum qualifications also include being at least 21 years old, possessing a high school diploma or GED, U.S. citizenship, a valid Arkansas driver’s license and reliable transportation. Candidates must pass a comprehensive background check, physical examination, psychological evaluation and pre-employment drug screening, and must have no felony convictions in any jurisdiction. Additional requirements established by Sheriff’s Office policies must also be met.
