
Ozark County voters approved a proposed tax levy for the Dora R-III School District in Tuesday’s General Municipal Election, with Proposition L.D.S. passing 146 to 109. The measure allows the district to raise its operating levy to support facilities, staffing and day-to-day expenses.In Bakersfield, three candidates were elected to the Board of Trustees. Kevin Sewell and Tony C. Johnson each received 34 votes, while Diana Hamby secured the third seat with 25 votes.
Voters also approved a use tax for the Ozark County Ambulance District. The measure passed with 713 votes in favor and 643 against, authorizing a tax that will mirror the district’s existing sales tax rate.
In school board races, Marti Warden, Wes Uchtman and Jeff Lane won election to the Gainesville R-V School District Board of Education, receiving 438, 342 and 332 votes, respectively.
In the Lutie R-VI School District, Ryan Garrison defeated Daniel Drury for a two-year term on the board, 84 to 54.
Countywide, voters approved a property tax credit program designed to limit certain increases on eligible primary residences. The measure passed 750 to 600.
