
Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has announced a vacancy in nomination for Arkansas House District 44 following the death of Republican nominee Stan Berry.
According to a proclamation issued Tuesday, a special primary election will be held June 2 to fill the vacancy in nomination.
The filing period for candidates will run from noon April 14 through noon April 20. Ballot position drawing will take place on or before April 24.
Election results are to be certified by county election commissioners no later than June 12. Certificates of nomination must be issued and filed by July 8.
The vacancy was created after Berry died March 23.
Additional election procedures will follow Arkansas election law.
