BC Quorum Court approves temporary fulltime deputy treasurer position

The Baxter County Quorum Court passed all items unanimously Tuesday evening.

Item number 7, ordinance 2026-21, approved an appropriation of $30,746.70 for a temporary deputy treasurer position. In other business resolution ordinance 2026-6 authorizes the destruction of certain district court records prior to 2023 that have been audited. The documents will be destroyed by shredding and supervised by the district court chief clerk Deborah Jeffrey.

Other resolutions approved included ordinance 2026-15 adopting revisions and additions to the Baxter County personnel policy and Baxter County Sheriff’s office personnel policy. Justices approved ordinance 2026-16 raising the rate of pay for jurors. Ordinance 2026-17 amended per-diem compensation for members of the Baxter County Board of Equalization last updated in 2013 from $100 to $125 per meeting.

Appropriation ordinance 2026-18 transfers $10,859.66 to the 2026 Sheriff’s budget with money received during the month of March in fees and reimbursements. Ordinance 2026-19 appropriates $21,000 from the county general fund to the prosecuting attorney’s office. In reference to building and grounds, ordinance 2026-20 appropriated carry-over funds in the amount of $41,000 from the county’s general fund into their 2026 budget. Also, ordinance, 2026-22 appropriated $15,500 in to the road and bridge 2026 budget.

In resolutions, ordinance 2026-7 confirms the appointments by Baxter County Judge Kevin Litty of Ken Seldon and Lindsey Oliver to the Midway Fire Protection District Board of Commissioners. The appointment of Mike Papineau as well as reappointments of Scott Tabor and Keith Stokes to the Tracy Area Fire Protection District Board of Commissioners were passes as ordinance 2026-8. The reappointment or Rudy Dedman to the Grover Township Fire Protection District Board of Commissioners was confirmed and passed as resolution ordinance 2026-9.

The confirmation of appointments of Brian Ades and Bailey Bodenhamer and reappointment of Tom Middleton to the Baxter County Equalization Board was approved as ordinance 2026-10.

Item number 9 on the agenda appropriating funds in the aviation budget was postponed until next month’s meeting.
