
Arkansas State University Mountain Home (ASUMH) recently honored four individuals during its 2026 Outstanding Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Academic All-Star awards recognizing excellence in teaching, leadership, service and community involvement.
ASUMH Provost Dr. Robert Shurley said the recipients reflect the university’s commitment to serving students and the community.
Jessica Clanton was named the 2026 Faculty Member of the Year. Clanton serves as a physical science instructor and was recognized for her work in student success initiatives, STEM advising, shared governance and helping lead the college’s response to emerging artificial intelligence-related challenges.
Nancee Sherick received the 2026 Outstanding Staff Member award for her work as administrative specialist for the School of Technology and Health Sciences. Officials praised her professionalism, organizational skills and support for students and staff.
The 2026 Academic All-Star award went to Joseph Vrechek. Vrechek serves as a student ambassador and participates in multiple campus organizations, including Phi Theta Kappa, Student Government Association and the college esports team. He is expected to serve as SGA president during the 2026-27 academic year.
Brooke Grissum was named the 2026 Alumni of the Year. Grissum currently serves as interim director of admissions and recruiting at ASUMH and also serves as vice president of the ASUMH Community Collective. Officials also recognized her community involvement through the Baxter County Fair Board and other service efforts.
