For the third time in the past four years, the No. 1 Razorbacks have the leading number of entries for the NCAA West First Rounds that will be hosted by Arkansas at John McDonnell Field from May 27-30.The Razorbacks have a total of 35 entries from 28 athletes in 13 events. The top 12 in each event contested at the NCAA West meet will advance to Eugene for the NCAA Championships.

In addition to a nation-leading 35 entries, the Razorbacks feature six No. 1 seeds in the NCAA West Jelani Watkins (100m & 200m), Jordan Pierre (400m), Rivaldo Marshall (800m), Arkansas 4 x 400m relay, and Scottie Vines (equal No. 1 in high jump).
Additional top five seeds for the Razorbacks include Brian Masai (No. 2 | 1,500m), Tyrice Taylor (No. 3 | 800m), Ernest Cheruiyot (No. 3 | 5,000m & 10,000m), and Arkansas 4 x 100m relay (No. 4).
The 35 entries for the Razorbacks equal the total they had a year ago. This marks the seventh time since 2012 for Arkansas to register the most NCAA entries. Since the 2010 format change, the Razorback have produced three of the top four entry totals 44 (2023), 41 (2016), and 38 (2012). Oregon totaled 42 in 2015.
Following the Razorbacks in 2026 NCAA West entries are Texas A&M (32), Oregon (28), Texas Tech (28), BYU (26), Iowa (26), Minnesota (23), Nebraska (23), and Oklahoma (21).
Tennessee leads the NCAA East with 29 entries, followed by Princeton (25), Alabama (24), LSU (23), Florida (22), and Georgia (21).
In qualifying both the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays, Arkansas is the lone school to qualify both relays to the NCAA West every year since 2010. Florida and LSU have achieved the feat in the NCAA East.
