An Ava man was killed Monday afternoon after being struck by a pickup in Douglas County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash happened at 3:06 p.m. on Missouri Route 76, 10 miles east of Ava.
Troopers say the 81-year-old man entered the path of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 driven by a 17-year-old boy from Norwood. The man was pronounced dead at the scene
The MSHP does not the names of those involved in motor vehicle or boating accidents.
The teen was not injured, according to the report. The Silverado sustained extensive damage, and the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Skyline Fire Department and Cox Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
