The leaders of The Salvation Army in Mountain Home are preparing to leave the Twin Lakes Area after six years of service.
Majors John and Michelle Robbins spoke with KTLO News and reflected on their time serving Mountain Home and the surrounding region.
Michelle Robbins says one of the accomplishments she is most proud of is the organization’s work with local children through programs including Kids Club, PS150 and Project Create.

John Robbins says the local Salvation Army is in a strong financial position and is prepared to continue serving the community well into the future.

The couple also said one of the biggest challenges facing the organization is serving its 10 county coverage area, particularly helping people in rural communities dealing with food insecurity and transportation issues.
John and Michelle say they have been overwhelmed by the support they received from the community during their six years in Mountain Home and called it one of the hardest assignments they have had to leave.

John and Michelle will leave Mountain Home later this month for a new assignment in Ardmore, Oklahoma. They will be replaced by Lieutenants who will continue The Salvation Army’s work in the Twin Lakes Area.
