Arkansas catcher Ryder Helfrick and pitcher Hunter Dietz have been named All-Americans by Baseball America.
Helfrick earned third-team honors at catcher, while Dietz was selected to the publication’s third team as a starting pitcher.
Helfrick becomes the 42nd All-America selection in Razorback baseball history and the first Arkansas catcher in the Dave Van Horn era to earn All-America recognition. He joins Ronn Reynolds and Andy Skeels as the only catchers in program history to receive the honor.
The SEC All-Defensive catcher hit .283 with 18 home runs, 53 RBIs and 55 walks this season. Helfrick also led the nation in defensive runs saved, framing runs saved and defensive wins above replacement.
Dietz collected his third All-America honor of the postseason after emerging as Arkansas’ ace this season. The left-hander finished 7-4 with a 3.57 ERA and a team-leading 131 strikeouts in 16 starts.
Dietz led the SEC with nine quality starts and finished fourth on Arkansas’ single-season strikeout list.
Helfrick and Dietz are two of four Razorbacks to earn All-America honors this postseason. Camden Kozeal and Ethan McElvain have also received All-America recognition from national organizations.
