Both victims were interviewed by special agents with the Arkansas State Police and gave details of the sexual abuse by Lara.
When Lara was interviewed, he corroborated most of the allegations. He told law enforcement he went into the female’s room while she was sleeping multiple times. He said he knew it was wrong, but he could not stop himself.
Lara described himself as a “hypersexual person who battles the ‘lust demon'”, which along with substance abuse and mental health problems, he attributed as the causes of his deviate actions with children.
A search warrant was executed at Lara’s residence last week and law enforcement found pornography plastered all over the walls of Lara’s office and numerous shelves filled with pornographic digital media.
Lara is facing three counts of second degree sexual assault and one count each of sexual indecency with a child and sexually grooming a child, all felonies. He is being held in the Izard County Jail with bond set at $250,000.
PREVIOUS ARRESTS
Lara has two previous felony arrests in Marion County in 2016.
His charges included aggravated assault, criminal mischief, second degree battery, first degree criminal mischief, possession of firearms by certain persons (meaning he is a convicted felon), disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was given a suspended imposition of sentence in a plea deal with the state in both cases.
