
It was a packed weekend of racing action in West Plains at historic Legit Speedway Park. Legit Speedway played host to the 2026 Firecracker Classic and featured 5 different classes of cars that ran over the 2 day event which included sport mods, sportsman late models, factory stocks, legit modifieds, and the main event the super stocks. 95 drivers from 3 different states converged on the 3/8th’s of a mile dirt oval in West Plains.
On night one the Sport Mod division saw Brad Vincent of West Plains take home the feature win. The Sportsman Late Model race was won by Houston, Missouri’s Kaden Miller. Coy Flippin of Flippin took home the win in the Factory Stock event. And Slade Hardwick of Quitman won the Legit Modified feature event.
On the final night of the Firecracker Classic a few extra incentives were in play including if the winner of the Legit Modified race was “topless” (a car without a roof), won the race they would receive an extra $500. The night began with Brad Vincent, Kaden Miller, and Coy Flippin winning their respective divisions for the second straight night. This was followed by the $5000-to-win Firecracker Classic that featured 24 drivers. Tim Brown of Stoutland, Missouri would secure victory, leading over half the race, and taking home the $5000 prize. Blaine Ewing, Tony Anglin, Tyler Worley, and Terry Schultz would round out the top 5 in this marquee event. The night was capped off with Brad Calhoun winning the Legit Modified feature event.
