Drivers who travel across Bull Shoals Dam should plan for delays this week as Highway 178 will temporarily close for routine maintenance.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. The closure has been coordinated with local emergency management officials and law enforcement agencies.
During the closure, motorists traveling to destinations north of the dam will be detoured from Highway 178 through Lakeview to Highway 5 south through Midway, then Highway 126 south through Gassville to Highway 412 west through Flippin before returning to Highway 178 in Bull Shoals. Southbound travelers will follow the same route in reverse.
