A man appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division August 3 and pled guilty to possessing methamphetamine and paraphernalia to ingest the drug.
Thirty-three-year-old Dustin Dearmore was sentenced to three-years-probation.
He was arrested in late May after Baxter County sheriff’s deputies responded to his mother’s home along Wehmeyer Drive. He had been trespassed from the property based on a prior violent incident.
He told the deputies he had come to the residence to “get a ride from his mother.” The lawmen reminded him that he was not supposed to be on the property. They also found that he had an active warrant out of the Mountain Home Police Department.
He was arrested and taken to the Baxter County Detention Center without incident.
When a deputy spoke to the mother, she asked if any drugs had been found in Dearmore’s backpack. The deputy noted he had not been in possession of a backpack.
A search was launched and the backpack was located near the back porch of the residence. A glass smoking pipe with a crystalline substance inside and a lighter were found.
In addition, a “rock like chunk” of a crystal-like substance was found outside the bag.
It was announced in court that Dearmore will be entering an addiction treatment program and will be required to complete the program.
