Mountain Home Public Schools’ transportation department is adjusting to a new school year after a first day that Superintendent Allyson Dewey described as smooth overall.
Being the first day, Dewey says the patience of families and the community is greatly appreciated.

The district is operating 42 bus routes, covering approximately 2,000 miles during the school day.
Dewey says the district expects transportation to continue improving as drivers become more familiar with their routes and the school year settles into a routine but families should expect some continued adjustments during the first few weeks.

The district also has a new transportation director this year. Matt Roberts began the school year working with families and drivers to address issues as they came up. Dewey says the district is also continuing to look for people interested in becoming bus drivers.
