The suspect and victim in a fatal shooting in Madison County last week have been identified, according to Arkansas State Police.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division in the death investigation.
Around 4:15 a.m. Aug. 28, deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 200 block of Madison County Road 2361. Deputies found 22-year-old Darrell Napolitano of Huntsville dead at the scene.
The suspect, 22-year-old Joshua Napolitano of Huntsville, was taken into custody at the scene. He was initially booked into the Madison County Detention Center before being transferred to the Benton County Detention Center.
Joshua Napolitano is facing one count of first-degree murder and is being held on a $350,000 bond.
ASP said Darrell Napolitano’s body was being transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, where the cause and manner of death will be determined.
The investigation remains ongoing, and ASP said no further information will be released at this time.
