It was volleyball time in The Hangar once again for the Lady Bomber volleyball squad as they began 5A-west conference play on Tuesday night. The night started off with the Lady Bombers sweeping Farmington in the JV Match 2 sets to 0 by the scores of 25-22 and 25-13. Layla Uchtman had 6 kills, 4 assists, and 7 digs on the evening on the JV side. Avery Carson added 12 assists.
On the varsity side of things the night began with a high scoring 1st set that saw both teams get into the 30’s. Mountain Home would have set point 8 times but could not cash in on any of the 8 to take set one. Farmington only needed 2 set points to take the 1st set 33-31. The second set the Cardinals showed why they were one of the best teams in Arkansas as they flexed their muscles and win set 2 by the score of 25-7. The final set would see Farmington complete the sweep 25-19.
Mountain Home’s Aleigh Lucas had 8 kills, 5 blocks, and 3 digs. Ava Jones put up a double-double adding 13 assists and 10 digs. Defensively Zoey Throckmorton had 23 digs, and Shayn Wickersham added 15 of her own.
Mountain Home will be on the road Thursday as they will take on the Cyclones of Russellville.
