A man caught up in a major drug bust in the county pled guilty to the charges against him during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division November 17.
Fifty-five-year-old Eric Jerome Harris was sentenced to eight years in prison. A revocation petition filed against Harris in a 2023 case was dismissed by the state.
Harris was arrested September 4 for selling methamphetamine to a person working with law enforcement during an operation conducted by a number of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
The arrest came as the result of an investigation launched by an Organized Drug Enforcement Task Force in 2023.
The operation targeted drug sellers in and around the Mountain Home area.
The cases of five people were taken to federal court and cases were opened for six other people in the criminal division of Baxter County Circuit Court.
Harris had also been arrested and charged with selling 12.5 grams of methamphetamine to a person working with law enforcement in January. The sale was made at a room in the Super 8 Motel.
