A Mountain Home man has reported multiple items stolen from his home, and his former roommate is now under investigation. 33-year-old Jerry “J.D.” Price is accused of taking electronics, sunglasses and other personal property from the residence after being told to move out.
According to the incident report, the victim contacted deputies on Nov. 25 after learning Price allegedly attempted to use his cash card multiple times. The victim said Price returned to the home early that morning. Later, a friend reported seeing Price with an Xbox, prompting the victim to check his belongings. He reported an Xbox, gaming accessories and other items missing.
Price was already being held at the Baxter County Detention Center on a separate theft case involving the Mountain Home Police Department. When deputies checked Price’s personal property at the jail, they located a pair of Under Armour sunglasses matching the victim’s description. The sunglasses were identified by the victim and logged into evidence.
Investigators later reviewed police body camera footage from the separate incident and say the victim identified additional items belonging to him inside Price’s vehicle, including a gaming steering wheel, a necklace and a bag that once held a PlayStation.
The victim later reported more missing items, including golf clubs and equipment, a watch, dog medication and a PlayStation VR2 headset. Investigators say they located a VR2 headset Price pawned at a local shop on Nov. 22, the same date the victim reported the theft. A law enforcement hold has been placed on the item.
The case remains active, and additional charges may be considered.
