Lead Hill wins Anstaff Bank Holiday Tournament; Yellville-Summit girls take 5th place

Lead Hill closed out the 69th Annual Green Forest Tournament with a 67-65 win over Berryville in the varsity boys championship game.

Berryville held the early advantage, leading 16-11 after the first quarter and 33-29 at halftime. The Bobcats continued to control the pace into the third quarter, taking a 54-51 lead into the final period.

Lead Hill answered down the stretch, outscoring Berryville in the fourth quarter to secure the two-point victory.

Hunter Rogers led the Tigers with 18 points. Coda Lemon posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Dawson Lively added 12 points and dished out 14 assists. Brett Arnold chipped in 11 points for Lead Hill.

In other boys action, Viola edged Winona 40-39. The Longhorns improve to 4-13, while Winona drops to 0-1.

Bergman rolled past Heber Springs 80-39 to move to 16-2 on the season. Heber Springs falls to 3-7.

Harrison suffered a 66-31 loss to Conway, dropping the Goblins to 3-8. Conway improves to 3-4.

Flippin continued its strong season, taking down Forrest City 67-46. The Bobcats move to 14-4, while Forrest City falls to 2-9.

Mountain View picked up a 54-48 win over Thayer, improving to 7-3. Thayer drops to 0-1.

Melbourne defeated Izard County 52-42. Melbourne is now 5-3, with Izard County moving to 5-5.

SENIOR GIRLS

In senior girls action, Yellville-Summit took fifth place at the Anstaff Bank Holiday Tournament with a 53-43 win over Lead Hill. Both teams now sit at 6-8.

Mountain View fell to West Side 60-44. The Yellowjackets drop to 9-3, while West Side improves to 14-4.

Melbourne picked up a 55-43 win over Izard County to move to 8-1 on the season. Izard County falls to 4-4.

Bergman dropped a 60-48 decision to Greene County Tech. The Lady Panthers are now 15-4, while Greene County Tech improves to 8-1.
