Arkansas State returns home this weekend to host Eastern Illinois in a three-game nonconference baseball series at Tomlinson Stadium in Jonesboro.

First pitch is set for 3 p.m. Friday, followed by a 2 p.m. game Saturday and a 1 p.m. finale Sunday.

The Red Wolves enter the series 3-1 after sweeping Stony Brook on opening weekend before falling 7-6 at Ole Miss in a midweek matchup. Eastern Illinois also comes in with a 3-1 record after defeating Butler 15-12 and splitting its opening series at Florida A&M.

Arkansas State holds a 21-9 all-time series lead over the Panthers, with all previous meetings played in Jonesboro. Eastern Illinois has had the edge in recent matchups, however, going 5-3 over the past three seasons.

Sophomore infielder Lane Walton has been a key contributor early for the Red Wolves, earning Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honors after a strong debut series that included multiple home runs and solid defensive play.

Projected starters for the series include left-hander Chase Richter for Arkansas State against Tyler Conklin for Eastern Illinois on Friday, Jack Nelson versus Anthony Solis on Saturday, and Dylan Farley against a to-be-determined starter on Sunday.

Arkansas State swept its opening series for the third time in the past four seasons and is looking to continue that momentum as it begins a busy stretch of games that includes upcoming matchups against Arkansas, Louisiana Tech and Oral Roberts.
