Sex offender moves from Cotter

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is notifying the public that a registered sex offender has moved out of Baxter County.

Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says 30-year-old Jeremy Murray, who had been residing at 330 Powell Avenue in Cotter, has relocated to New York.

Murray was convicted of two incidents of second degree rape in 2008 in New York and sentenced to 15 years. The particulars of these offenses are not indicated in available documentation.

Murray had not been assigned a risk level by the Sex Offender Community Notification Assessment. He was not wanted by law enforcement during the time he resided in Baxter County.
