An Ozark County teenager whose remains were found on her mother’s property last month was honored with a memorial service and a candlelight vigil. According to Springfield television station KYTV, family, friends and strangers gathered Saturday at the Theodosia firehouse in remembrance of 16-year-old Savannah Leckie.

The evening began with fire departments and other first responders leading a processional from Isabella to Theodosia. The memorial service and candlelight vigil soon followed. Firefighters did a final page for Leckie as a symbol to pay their last respects.

Leckie was reported missing July 20th, and her charred remains were found August 4th at the farm owned by her mother, Rebecca Ruud. Ruud is currently in the Ozark County Jail on several charges including first-degree murder.
