A second continuance has been granted in Marion County Circuit Court against 35-year-old Bradley Caster of Cotter charged in May 2017 following an incident in Flippin when he is alleged to have fled the home of his ex-wife and evaded law enforcement.
According to the probable cause affidavit, a Flippin Police officer was dispatched to a possible breaking or entering in progress at a home along Winchester Street. The officer was advised by dispatch while en route to the scene that Bradley had left the residence and backed into another vehicle in the driveway in the process.
The officer spotted Bradley’s white pickup as he was approaching the intersection of Winchester and Third streets. He turned his patrol unit around and attempted to stop Bradley’s vehicle. With the patrol unit lights activated, the officer pulled toward the intersection. Bradley’s vehicle moved toward the patrol unit but drove around the officer, traveling north on Third Street.
The officer turned his vehicle around in pursuit of the Caster vehicle, as it traveled two blocks further before stopping at a residence on Fifth Street. At the home of a “friend,” Caster was taken into custody.
At the Winchester residence, Caster’s former wife told the officer about 11:30 that evening she heard a loud crash and her ex-husband screaming “Kevin” outside her home. She said she was able to get to the back bedroom before Caster entered the residence. Once inside, he began to pound on the bedroom door. A friend staying at the residence yelled to Caster, and he left.
The front door of the home had marks appearing to be from a fist and a shoe to force entry. The inside frame of the door was shattered, with markings on the inside wall indicating a door was opened in a violent manner. A coffee table was overturned, and the door where the woman was hiding had visible damage to the top right corner. A 6-year-old child was also at the residence.
Caster was charged with felony residential burglary, along with misdemeanor counts of fleeing, criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a minor, violation of an order of protection and having an expired driver’s license.
His bond was set at $10,000.
On Wednesday, 14th Judicial District Judge Gordon Webb granted continuance in Caster’s case until April 23rd.
