Glenbriar Commons development continues with 2 more building permits issued

Construction continues to expand at Glenbriar Commons located off 16th Street in Mountain Home, with two additional building permits issued in August, according to Jeannie Anderson from the city’s building inspection department.

As of early August, information from the city’s building inspection department indicated building permits for the Glenbriar Commons had included three duplexes, seven tri-plexes and one four-plex unit, as well as two, two-story homes for the residential development.

The most recent building permits issued to Leisure Homes Construction were for a duplex and a four-plex unit to be located along Superior Way.

The duplex permit indicates the residence will include 2,512 square feet of heated space, with 1,080 square feet of unheated space. The construction value was listed at $172,000.

The four-plex unit permit indicates the structure will include 5,024 square feet of heated space, with 2,160 square feet of unheated space. The construction value was listed at $344,000.

Other permits issued in August included one to Walt McKay for New Creation Properties for a commercial addition covering 4,450 square feet of heated space and 1,600 of unheated space. The construction value was listed at $240,000.

A residential addition permit was issued to contractor Tyler Sallee for a 225-square-foot bedroom at 709 Arkansas Avenue, with a construction value of $2,500.

Permits were issued for a residential carport and two storage buildings.

The building permit for the carport was issued to Gregory Construction to be built at 1217 Hall Court. The 144-square-foot carport has a construction value of $4,500.

One of the two storage building permits was issued to Larry Jeffery to be constructed at 816 Mary Street. The 160-square-foot storage building has a construction value of $3,500.

The second permit was issued to Ronnie and Charlene Joyce to be constructed at 1904 Van Buren Road. The 96-square-foot storage building has a construction value of $2,500.

One sign permit was issued in August. DeJohn Signs obtained a permit for Central Heating and Cooling, located at 1585 South College Street. The brick monument-style sign has a construction value of $5,700.
Total construction value of the eight permits issued in August was $774,700.

The cost of all permits issued for the month of August totaled $3,471, including the actual cost of building, electric, mechanical and plumbing permits, as well as mowing fees.

The city building and inspection department handled 38 inspections for the month.
