A Stone County woman, 52-year-old Lequieta Jean Houston, was taken into custody Thursday, but not before asking if she could go inside and turn off her supper in the oven.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Wednesday, a member of the Stone County Sheriff’s Office drove by a residence along State Highway 5 south and observed Houston in the yard.

Houston has an active warrant from the Arkansas Parole Board for absconding and was known to reside at the home, with a search waiver on file with Arkansas Community Correction.

The officer pulled into the driveway and made contact with Houston and a male subject. When informed of her warrant, Houston allegedly said she wanted to attend to the meal she was cooking.

The officer walked inside with Houston and reportedly observed her take her purse from the bed and place it on the floor. He then informed her he would look through the residence because of her search waiver.

A search of her pursue allegedly revealed a crystalline substance with two tiny rocks field testing positive for crystal methamphetamine, along with a glass smoking pipe.

Houston has been charged with felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia with purpose to use meth. She was also charged with a penalty enhancement, with records indicating she has been convicted of four or more felonies.

Her bond was set at $5,000.
