Mountain Home now has an Eastern Rite Orthodox Church, St. Thomas the Apostle Orthodox Church. It is the only Byzantine Orthodox church within a two-hour drive of the Twin Lakes Area.
The pastor is Father Samuel Seamans, who has been in ordained ministry for 20 years. The community of St. Thomas was first planted as an Anglican church in 2004 by Fr. Samuel, and later became Orthodox under his leadership. The parish now celebrates the opening of its new church at 96 County Road 420 in Mountain Home, across from Rolling Meadows mobile home park on U.S. Highway 62 East.
St. Thomas worships according to the ancient Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysosotom, and the parish is affiliated with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA under the omophor (protection) of His Eminence Metropolitan Antony Scharba and Archbishop Daniel Zelinsky. Service times are Sundays at 9 a.m. for The Hours and 9:30 for the Divine Liturgy.
