The Izard County Consolidated Junior High Quiz Bowl Team has placed second in the 1A Northcentral Regional Tournament and qualified to compete in the Junior Finals Tournament. Case Everett and Keaton Melton earned All-Tournament honors.
The team went on to place third in the AGQBA 1A Junior Finals earlier this month. This year’s competition included 10 teams and was held virtually instead of the typical head-to-head format, in order to maintain a safe environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Izard County’s team earned its ranking by compiling a total score of 1630, for an average of 408 points per game. Case Everett averaged 12 questions per game, Keaton Melton had 8.5 per game and Allison Hatman answered 3.75 per game.
