A Mountain Home man charged with beating his daughter and making her stand on one foot for hours has entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him.
On Nov. 1, lawyers for 38-year-old Lucas Morgan McCluskey, Gray Dellinger and Emily Reed, filed a waiver of arraignment and entered the not guilty plea.
McCluskey is charged with first-degree false imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a minor in the first degree.
He was arrested Oct. 25 after the victim reported her situation to school officials.
A school resource officer contacted Mountain Home police and passed along the allegations.
The victim claims that on Oct. 11 her father beat her with a belt. She said she sustained, bruises and cuts. A cut on her back was reported to be “so deep it bled.”
She also alleges she was told to stand in a corner and warned, if she sat down, another beating would be administered.
The victim said McCluskey had discovered she had reported him and made her stand on one foot for hours, until she gave him information on the person to whom she made the report.
The girl said if she tried to put the other foot down, McCluskey would kick her or hit her with a stick.
When McCluskey was interviewed, he admitted to disciplining his child with a belt. He said while using the belt, the child was trying to get away and that is how the bruises ended up where they did on her body.
He also said he had made his daughter stand on one foot, but claimed it was only for a short time.
McCluskey is free on $25,000 bond.
