Michael R. Hobbs II has made a number of appearances in Baxter County Circuit Court recently in an attempt to have property seized by the Mountain Home Police Department in July 2021 returned to him.

On a recent visit, the 31-year-old Hobbs passed out on the floor of the court complex along Sixth Street and had to be taken to the hospital.

Hobbs was taken to Baxter Health for treatment. People in the court complex reported that Hobbs received chest compressions, and Narcan was used.

Narcan is primarily used to treat people suspected of experiencing opioid overdoses. Opioids can slow or stop a person’s breathing, leading to death. Narcan helps a person with opioids in their system wake up and keep breathing.

It is not known what caused Hobbs to black out.

Video footage from security cameras in the complex shows Hobbs and a female sitting on a bench in the main entry hallway.

They are shown in conversation with Hobbs’ public defender. At one point, Hobbs’ head tilts forward and the female begins patting him.

Law officers responded and put Hobbs on the floor where chest compressions were applied and Narcan administered.

The incident lasted only about 11 minutes. Hobbs was reported to have returned to the court complex about an hour-and-a-half later.

Hobbs has had a number of criminal cases opened on him – with charges ranging from stealing concrete yard ornaments to selling drugs.

In July last year, Hobbs was found passed out in a black Chevrolet Impala. According to the MHPD incident report, the car’s engine was running, it was in gear, and Hobbs’ foot was on the brake.

After police and others were able to wake Hobbs up in that incident, he is reported to have admitted he was too impaired to be driving.

Officers found a clear plastic bag containing 89 grams of suspected methamphetamine and another holding about 9 grams. A small amount of marijuana, 62 Oxycodone pills, a set of digital scales and a number of small plastic bags commonly used in packaging drugs for sale.

Hobbs is alleged to have told officers the substance in the two plastic bags was methamphetamine.
