The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office will accept unwanted drugs at the Baxter County Library. In the case of inclement weather Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says the secure drop box at 208 West 8th Street in Mountain Home, which is accessible at all times will be the main drop off llocation.
The Mountain Home Police Department will have officers available to accept unwanted drugs at its building located at 424 West 7th Street.
The drop-off is completely anonymous and no questions will be asked. For increased privacy, medications may be returned in any container. All unwanted prescriptions, over-the-counter meds, vitamins or other nutritional supplements will be accepted.
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office also has a secure drop box at 208 West 8th Street in Mountain Home that is accessible at all times. This lock box is under 24-hour video surveillance for security purposes. Sheriff John Montgomery said all pharmaceuticals collected will be destroyed later in the department’s drug incinerator equipment.
A secure drop box for the disposal of unwanted drugs is also available in the lobby of the Mountain Home Police Department Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Izard County, Chief Depty Ernie Blackly says depository boxes are located at the sheriff’s office at 300 Circle Drive in Melbourne, as well as the substation in Horseshoe Bend.
