
The first two state championships for Arkansas high school basketball are in the books as the Class 4A games were played Thursday afternoon at Bank OZK Arena in downtown Hot Springs.
Nashville came back from being down 17 to tie the girls’ game, but Farmington came out on top 65-61. Marin Adams led the Lady Cardinals with 22 points, and Jenna Lawrence and Reese Shirey each added 15. Lawrence, who has committed to play for the University of Arkansas, was named the game’s most valuable player. For the Lady Scrappers, Caroline Dean scored 15 points, Shalyn Lyle had 14, and Kyleigh Scoggins chipped in 12. Farmington finishes the season at 36-1, and Nashville falls to 29-4.
The boys’ game was dominated by Little Rock Christian as they breezed past Blytheville 74-54. The Warriors were led by game MVP Landren Blocker with 32 points, and Jameel Wesley provided 14. For the Chickasaws, Rashaud Marshall finished with 23 points and 14 rebounds, and T.J. Jackson and Jeremiah Wells ended up with 10 points each. Christian wraps up the year at 27-6, and Blytheville drops to 34-2.
