Basketball makes up the local Monday schedule and includes Mountain Homes’ freshman boys beginning their week in Bentonville. The Junior Bombers will compete in the Northwest Arkansas Classic.
Salem’s boys will compete in the Wade’s Heating and Cooling Junior High Tournament at Batesville. The Junior Greyhounds meet the host Junior Pioneers at 6:15.
Elsewhere on the junior high level, Calico Rock travels to Brockwell to face Izard County.
Several area high school teams will gather in Flippin for the second day of the Arvest Bank Tournament. The girls’ games in the new gym begin with Bergman and Jasper at 4, Norfork takes on Flippin at 5:30, Salem plays Kingston at 7, and Cotter will be paired with Mountain View at 8:30. In the boys’ games in the old gym, Mountain View and Alpena tip off at 4, Cave City meets Kingston at 5:30, Flippin faces Omaha at 7, and Ozark Mountain takes on Jasper at 8:30.
Mammoth Spring’s girls will compete on the opening day of the Highland Classic. The Lady Bears play Nettleton at 4:30.
In other high school basketball, Valley Springs makes the trip to Shirley.
