Two new boil water orders have been issued in Baxter County, and eight others remain in effect in other portions of north central Arkansas.
One order was issued Tuesday morning for the entire system of the Laurelwood Homeowners Association Tuesday morning due to a water line break. Another boil order went into effect Tuesday afternoon for the Lakeview-Midway Public Water Authority in the area of County Road 276 because of a main break.
Other boil orders have been in effect since Jan. 16 due to pump malfunctions. The orders are for the entire systems of the Guion Water Department in Izard County and the Sylamore Valley Water Association, Fifty Six Waterworks, Pleasant Grove, the Richwoods Water Association and Mountain View Waterworks in Stone County. Another order continues for the West Stone County Water Association’s customers along Arkansas Highway 66 and all side roads, including Arkansas Highway 263 south to Old Brewer Road and Arkansas Highway 9 south to Shirley. The Leslie Water System in Searcy County also has a boil order for its customers on Old Highway 66.
All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
