There is basketball scheduled for Saturday as area teams will be in tournament play.
Both of Cotter’s teams will be in the opening games of the 2A-2 District Tournament at Tuckerman. The Lady Warriors will go up against Cedar Ridge at 5, and the Cotter boys play Mammoth Spring at 6:20.
The 1A-2 District Tournament will get underway at Rural Special High School in Fox. In girls’ action, Calico Rock and Shirley are scheduled for 11:15, and Timbo faces Concord at 1:45. Norfork’s boys take on Viola at 12:30.
The 3A-2 District Tournament will get started at Melbourne. On the girls’ bracket, Valley Springs and Cave City tip off at 4, and Flippin plays Yellville-Summit at 6:30. On the boys’ side, Salem will be paired with Mountain View at 5:15, and Yellville-Summit faces Valley Springs at 7:45.
Earlier in the day, the 3A-2 Junior District Tournament will have its championship games at Salem. The girls’ game tips off at noon between Mountain View and Bergman, and Yellville-Summit takes on Melbourne for the boys’ title at 1.
