The Arkansas State Police (ASP) recently introduced a robot dog which will help with bomb squad and SWAT operations. The robot dog, named Buford after a former bomb squad commander, is equipped with thermal vision, video recording and AI to help officers assess dangerous situations.

Paid for by a federal grant of $282,000, Buford is the first of such robots used by Arkansas law enforcement. Officers will undergo 16 hours of training with the robot before it is deployed for use.
