Friday results include MHHS softball team topping Van Buren

The Mountain Home High School softball team had another good performance on Friday as they went to Van Buren and posted the 5-1 victory. Chloe Bohannon was the winner as she pitched a complete game and recorded four strikeouts, and she also went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in a run. Karleigh Drewry was 3-for-4, Emma King went 1-for-2 with an RBI, Daelyn Harper was 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, Maddie Simmons went 1-for-3 and drove in a run, and Leah Bockstahler was 1-for-4 with an RBI. The Lady Bombers improve to 11-7 overall and 7-4 in the 5A-West.
Mountain Home had a different result in the junior varsity game as they lost to Van Buren 5-1. The J.V. Lady Bombers fall to 4-6-1.

In other softball, Bakersfield lost a high-scoring game to Fordland 32-16.

Bakersfield’s baseball team split its openers in the Southern Invitational. Bakersfield beat Alton 11-1 but lost to Van Buren, Mo., by the same score.

In other baseball, Cotter fell to Flippin 8-2, Viola lost to Calico Rock 6-4, Lead Hill fell to Green Forest 10-2, and Ozark Mountain swept a doubleheader over Ozark Catholic with scores of 15-8 and 9-4.
