Howell County Sheriff advises possible sighting of escaped murderer in Missouri

The Howell County Sheriff’s Office is advising residents of a possible sighting of escaped murderer Grant Hardin in the Moody/Bakersfield area.

According to a Facebook post from the Sheriff’s Office, a report was received regarding a suspicious person resembling Hardin. A “faded red” colored car was also seen in close proximity to the subject. Deputies responded to the area shortly after, but were unable to locate anyone in the area.

Sheriff Matt Roberts spoke with Izard County Sheriff Charley Melton and the Arkansas State Police to advise them of the possible sighting. At the time of speaking with Melton, there was no information indicating Hardin had traveled to Missouri.

The Howell County Sheriff’s Office currently has deputies and investigators canvassing the area in an attempt to identify the subject who was seen. At this time, the Sheriff’s Office has no information indicating the suspicious person was the escapee.
