The Salesville Fire Department has received a major donation of emergency drinking water from Anheuser-Busch, in partnership with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), to help keep firefighters hydrated during the height of wildfire season. On Tuesday, 2,352 cans of clean drinking water were delivered by McBride Distributing Co. – Anheuser-Busch’s local wholesaler partner. The emergency water will support Salesville firefighters working in intense heat and hazardous conditions, where hydration is critical to safety and performance.

“Responding to emergencies can take a serious toll on firefighters, especially during long or high-intensity incidents like wildfires,” said Chief Malloy. “Staying hydrated is essential to our crew’s health, safety, and performance. This donation of emergency drinking water from Anheuser-Busch and the NVFC ensures we have the supplies we need to keep our firefighters hydrated and ready to serve our community.”

Anheuser-Busch has a long-standing tradition of pausing beer production to can emergency drinking water for disaster relief efforts. In 2025, the company surpassed 100 million cans of water produced for emergencies since the program began in 1988.

The NVFC is the nation’s leading nonprofit association representing volunteer fire, EMS, and rescue services. The Emergency Drinking Water for Wildland Firefighters program is one of its key initiatives to support first responders.
