DESCRIPTION:The painting class taught by a professional artist helps students develop both technical skills and personal artistic style. Students create original paintings using still life\, photography\, and imagination as inspiration. Instruction covers color theory\, brush techniques composition and an overview of historical painting styles as they relate to a modern world.  \n*Must be 16 or older.  \n*For paint and supplies\, please bring $6 to instructor at the beginning of class.  \n*If you have your own supplies that you would like to bring\, please reach out to the instructor prior to class. dianenyc111@gmail.com \nInstructor BIO: \nDiane Hoppmann’s larger scale impressionistic paintings are inspired by a heightened sensitivity to nature’s changing light\,color and atmospheric conditions in the Ozarks. She spends much of her time immersed in the landscape\, observing flowing creeks and rivers\, foliage reflections and shifting patterns of wind and water on the lake. Diane describes this experience as”Being Home.” \nPainting allows her to transfer the tranquil observations into the perfect balance of composition\, shape\, perspective and color while escaping into a peaceful and safe emotional space. \nDiane Hoppmann was born in Madison\, Wisconsin and currently lives in Mountain Home\, Arkansas. She graduated from the Corcoran School of Art in Washington\, D.C. earning a B.F.A. She also attended the Post Bachelorette program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and graduated from New York University in New York City with an M.A. \nDiane Hoppmann then continued to paint and show her work while starting her own successful decorative painting business in New York and Washington\, D.C. for the next thirty years. \nHer featured exhibitions and clients include East Hampton Center for Contemporary Arts\, Adrian Arscht\, Eileen Fisher\, Ralph Lauren Home and Hertz Worldwide Corporate headquarters. Diane has also shown with local shows such as The Art Odyssey\, Springfield Airport ‘Sky Gallery” and ASUMH Art Gallery.

She also attended the Post Bachelorette program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and graduated from New York University in New York City with an M.A. \nDiane Hoppmann then continued to paint and show her work while starting her own successful decorative painting business in New York and Washington\, D.C. for the next thirty years. \nHer featured exhibitions and clients include East Hampton Center for Contemporary Arts\, Adrian Arscht\, Eileen Fisher\, Ralph Lauren Home and Hertz Worldwide Corporate headquarters. Diane has also shown with local shows such as The Art Odyssey\, Springfield Airport ‘Sky Gallery” and ASUMH Art Gallery.
