Travis Cook brought home a national championship for Lead Hill High School during the 2026 Eastern National Championship for the National Archery in the Schools Program held in Louisville, Kentucky.

Cook claimed first place in the high school bull’s-eye competition after shooting a 298 out of a possible 300 points against some of the top school archers in the country.

The event featured student archers from fourth through 12th grade who qualified through state championship-level tournaments across the United States.

According to Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Archery in the Schools Program coordinator Aimee Swaim, Cook and fellow Arkansas champion Cash Hignight had competed closely throughout the season before Cook captured the national title.

Cook also placed 20th nationally in the 3D competition.

Swaim said the national championship marked the first time an Arkansas archer had won at that level, with two Arkansas competitors earning first-place finishes during the same tournament.
