A barn and its contents were destroyed by a fire Thursday afternoon west of Midway. Grover Township Fire Chief Jim Sierzchula says the 40X60 pole barn contained a tractor and between 60 and 100 round bales of hay. Sierzchula says it’s believed the tractor, which had been recently serviced, is what caused the fire. There was no electricity to the barn.Firefighters from Grover Township, Midway and Bull Shoals fought the blaze at 95 Shasta Trail which is just west of Waste Connections. They were aided by the Forestry Service which plowed a trench around the barn to keep it from spreading.
The barn was owned by Rob Finley.
No injuries were reported.
