Arkansas basketball women fall to Missouri

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Alecia Cooley led the way with 10 points and eight rebounds in Southeastern Conference action against Missouri in Bud Walton Arena on Monday. The Razorbacks fell to the Tigers 60-46.



All 10 players scored in the contest for the Razorbacks (13-7, 2-5 SEC), led by Cooley. Junior Devin Cosper added seven points and Jailyn Mason and Kiara Williams had six points each.



Arkansas fell behind in the first quarter but battled back playing the Tigers even in the final three frames but the first 10 minutes was the difference in the game. Arkansas was one point shy of matching Missouri 39-38 in the final three quarters. The Razorbacks’ best stanza was the final one with a 16-point effort in the last 10 minutes of the game.



The Razorbacks pulled to within 11 early in the third quarter, before the Tigers answered right back with back-to-back 3-pointers to lead 39-22 with 8:10 remaining in the period. The 11-point deficit was as close as Arkansas would get the rest of the way.



Arkansas travels to LSU on Sunday, before returning home for back-to-back home games against Georgia on Feb. 2 and No. 5 South Carolina on Feb. 5.
